Lambert have spent over 10million on five new signings so far this summer, with Antonio Luna Rodriguez, Nicklas Helenius, Aleksander Tonev, Leandro Bacuna and Jores Okore all moving to England for the first time.

However, Lambert has dismissed any talk that so many new faces could struggle to settle, something that would be likely to affect the performance of the squad.

"The good thing is there are good characters, that's more important than anything," Villa's manager told Sky Sports News.

"I think that they have bedded in pretty well. They have got used to English game. The team spirit is very good too."

Lambert also claimed that he is not worried by Villa's tough start to the season. The Villans must travel to both Arsenal and Chelsea in the first four days of the new campaign, with a home game against Liverpool to follow.

"It's a tough start but you've got to play them sometime. Anything can happen at the start of the season," he said.
