Ronnie Stam: Just one of a number of options being considered by Swansea

Stam is available as a free agent after seeing his contract at Wigan Athletic expire.

Jenkins admits that the Dutch full-back, who spent three years in the Premier League at the DW Stadium, is a player Swans boss Michael Laudrup has considered.

He is, however, one of a number of options - with Huddersfield Town's Jack Hunt another to figure on their radar.

There is no intention for a deal to be put to Stam any time soon, with it possible that the Swans will opt to keep faith with the right-backs already at their disposal.

Jenkins told the Evening Post: "Ronnie Stam is just one of a number of players we have been looking at as right-back cover.

"There have been no negotiations. He's just one option, along with the likes of Dwight Tiendalli and Jack Hunt at Huddersfield.

"I think we are covered at right-back with Angel Rangel and Jazz Richards, but it's up to Michael Laudrup whether he keeps Jazz or lets him go out on loan."
