Manuel Pellegrini: Eyeing home comforts

Kompany was absent as Manuel Pellegrini's men slipped to a shock 3-2 defeat at Cardiff City last Sunday, but hopes he will be back in action by the middle of next month.

Matija Nastasic returned to the bench against the Bluebirds following an ankle injury and could be handed a starting spot by Pellegrini as he looks to sure up his defence against another newly promoted side.

Fellow defender Micah Richards (hamstring) could come into contention after another week of recovery while striker Stevan Jovetic (hamstring) could also come into the reckoning to make his debut.

For the Tigers, striker Yannick Sagbo is the only confirmed absentee for the trip to the Etihad.

Sagbo will serve the second of a three-match ban for his red card against Norwich as Steve Bruce's side posted their first win after returning to the top-flight.

But Bruce should be buoyed by the likely return of Stephen Quinn (hamstring) to the matchday squad.

The Hull boss made 11 changes for the midweek Capital One Cup victory against Leyton Orientand he has not ruled out doing the same again as he recalls his first-choice players to the line-up.
