Gary Bowyer: Still looking to add before the window closes

The Ewood Park boss is still hoping to add to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window, but he will not be rushing into any deals.

Blackburn will ensure that any moves they make before 2nd September are well researched, with it vital to get the correct characters in.

Bowyer admits that process takes time and hopes supporters will stick with him as he tries to make the necessary additions.

He said in the Lancashire Telegraph: "It is not for the lack of trying that we haven't brought someone in, but there are a lot of clubs in the same position and looking to do the same thing.

"We want to make sure we bring the right players in and that they are coming for the right reasons.

"It is about looking at their character and what else they bring apart from football ability. A lot of work goes into it and it takes time."

Bowyer has also reiterated that it his intention to keep the likes of Scott Dann and Jordan Rhodes at Ewood Park, regardless of what mounting transfer gossip may suggest.

He added: "They are Blackburn Rovers players.

"We will get this a lot between now and the other end of the window, but we don't want to sell them."
