Rob Jones: Doncaster captain faces a spell out with a neck injury

Jones was sent for a scan this week after suffering problems with his arm during the warm-up prior to Saturday's defeat to Brighton.

The results have shown that the 34-year-old centre-back has two bulging discs at the base of his neck, which have trapped a nerve and led to his arm issues.

"Unfortunately we won't have Rob back for around six to eight weeks," Rovers boss Paul Dickov told the club's official website.

"Following this he will need a rehabilitation period to get back to match fitness.

"Physio Alex Dalton will be assessing Rob throughout and he will have further tests before he trains again to make sure it has settled."

Jones originally suffered problems with his arm during the defeat at Reading on October 19 but was given the all clear to face Middlesbrough a week later.

He had been an ever-present this season before missing the 3-1 home defeat by Brighton at the weekend.
