Thomas Ince: Has been banned for two matches

The charge related to using an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture towards a match official.

The incident occurred in the 24th minute of Blackpool's 1-0 Capital One Cup loss at Preston on Monday night.

It was not seen by the match officials but was subsequently revealed by video evidence and the two-match penalty is automatic for such an offence.

Blackpool will therefore be without their highly-rated winger for the visit of Barnsley this Saturday and the following week's trip to Middlesbrough.

But the 21-year-old, who is carrying a minor groin injury at the moment, could feature for the England U21 side against Scotland at Bramall Lane next Tuesday.

The FA confirmed in a statement on its website: "Blackpool's Thomas Ince has been suspended for two games with immediate effect after he accepted an FA charge of using an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture towards a match official.

"The automatic penalty for the offence is in relation to an on-field incident which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video in the 24th minute of Blackpool's Capital One Cup match at Preston North End on 5 August 2013."
